The last time I saw Aqualena was at the Suncoast Credit Union in Bushnell, Fl. We were both wearing our masks and we had put on a few pounds since she was a kindergarten student in my class, around 1975. She always remembered me, greeted me, and would ask, "Do you remember me?" I would say, "Aqualena Mitchell." Aqualena announced to the customers inside the credit union that I was her kindergarten teacher and that I was the best teacher. One of her daughters poked her head in the front door and Aqualena introduced me as her kindergarten teacher. Her daughter laughed and said, "She was mine too!" When she told me how many children she had I teased her and jokingly said, "Didn't I teach you math?" Her passing saddens me and I know she will be missed tremendously. Rest in peace little one.
